This page will help you decide if you should proceed with an application.

If you cannot answer “yes” or “I understand” in the next two sections, we do not recommend you continue with an application.

Program Eligibility

If you cannot answer “yes” to each of these statements, we do not suggest applying as you likely do not qualify. Please call 2-1-1 for other resources.

Program Expectations

Please confirm you understand the following by checking, “I understand”. If you cannot do so, please do not proceed with an application.

This program primarily offers interest-free loans that must be repaid over a period of up-to 36-months.	I understand

If approved, funds will be paid to my landlord or utility company.	I understand
To be approved, I must provide proof that I can repay a loan and maintain my housing costs in the future.	I understand
If I need help with utility arrears, I have attempted to make repayment arrangements with BC Hydro or Fortis BC.	I understand
Required documents: proof of income, 2 pieces of ID, lease agreement, utility statements (if applicable), up-to 3 months of bank statements.	I understand
I will treat staff with respect, free from any form of harassment or mistreatment, or my application will be withdrawn. I can expect the same treatment from staff in return and understand I can ask to speak to a supervisor if I have concerns.	I understand
If I receive benefits from the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction (IA or PWD), I must seek assistance from the Ministry before applying.	I understand
